Description
The Bennington Fire Department is currently seeking all classes of firefighters. We understand that not every person is comfortable with the thought of entering a burning building, however, there are more opportunities in the Fire Department than that! We have opportunities for Apparatus Drivers, Exterior Firefighters, Scene Support, Junior Firefighters, Parade Planning and Fund Raising as well as Interior Firefighters! In addition to covering the Village of Bennington we are active in a Tri-State area mutual aid system.
Training is provided at no cost to you either in house, at regional fire schools or through the Vermont Fire Academy.

Requirements
Firefighting positions must be at least 18 years of age and be able to pass a physical.
Drivers must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass a physical.
Junior Firefighters must be at least 14 years of age.
All applicants should be team players, have a strong desire to serve your community and be willing to learn.
