Adult volunteers interested in helping as firefighters or in non-fire support roles should contact us. Opportunities vary throughout the year. As a Volunteer Firefighter you will be trained how to safely operate en-route to and on the scene of an emergency. Firefighting tasks include but are not limited to: combating, extinguishing and preventing fires of all types, responding to motor vehicle accidents, HAZMAT responses, etc. Members may also be driving and operating fire apparatus, using power tools including the jaws of life, and learning fire-ground operating procedures which include strategy and tactics as well as various safety techniques. All fire department members must also become certified as a Massachusetts First Responder and have received training in CPR within 12 months of hire. All minimum required training for this position is provided in-house. Members meet each Tuesday, and train on average 3 nights per month.
