Description
Perform a wide variety of technical tasks and functions in support of fire suppression, fire prevention, hazardous materials, emergency medical and other emergency services. Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents; provide appropriate services as required including emergency rescue and fire suppression; perform search and rescue for trapped or injured persons; perform emergency medical and first aid services as needed. Participate in cleaning and maintaining facilities, grounds, ensure that all equipment and apparatus is in a constant state of readiness for emergency calls. Perform other related duties and related tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.

Requirements
Must be a minimum of 18 years old and have a current driver's license. Potential firefighters must pass drug tests and background check. Minimum education of a high school diploma or an equivalency certificate.

The application process for volunteer membership with the Cumberland Road Fire Department starts with you electronically completing the application. Visit our Website cumberlandroadfire.com and click on the Volunteer / Contacts page. Before you get started, you will need to upload the following documents: Criminal Background, and High School Diploma or GED. These documents will need to be uploaded at the bottom of the application.

Once the application has been received it will be reviewed for consideration. At such time your application is accepted, you will be contacted with the next steps for becoming a volunteer with Cumberland Road Fire Department.

Once a favorable background check is completed, you will be contacted by our training staff, and required to attended 3 of our Thursday night meeting/training sessions to acquaint yourself with our operation and standards.

After completing the required meetings, you will be interviewed by members of the training staff, and advised of your membership status.

All new volunteers receive a “probationary packet” which is designed to acquaint new members with our operation and the fire service. You will be given a time frame to complete the packet and will be tested to evaluate your knowledge, skills, and abilities.
