The Coralville Fire Department is actively seeking dedicated men and women to serve as volunteer firefighters. The Coralville Fire Department has 5 paid staff members, over 40 volunteer firefighters and 2 fire stations. Each member of the Coralville Fire Department must meet minimum requirements to respond to calls.

There is no cost to apply and no cost for Fire Academy Class.

Requirements
Volunteer firefighters for the City of Coralville must:
-Have a high school diploma or GED
-Be of good moral character
-Be substance-abuse free
-Have a valid Iowa driver's license
-Be able to read, write, and understand the English language
-Pass a physical examination and drug screen
-Successfully complete an oral interview
-Pass a physical agility assessment
-Be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
