Description
Bardstown Fire Department averages 120 calls per month. We respond to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies as well as provide the following community services:

• Public fire and safety education
• Industrial fire extinguisher training
• Child passenger safety education
• Smoke detector installation and home safety inspections

Bardstown Fire Department is seeking men and women to join our department and become volunteer firefighters. We are staffed by full and part-time personnel as well as volunteers. Requirements
Volunteer Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Pass a background check and medical exam
• Adhere to department grooming policy which includes being clean shaven and maintaining a positive public image
• Receive 18 hours of training per quarter (minimum)
• Perform 24 hours of standby time per month which may be in (2) 12 hour blocks or (1) 24 hour block
