Description
The Manlius Fire Department is located 5 miles east of the City of Syracuse in the heart of Central New York. Operating two stations, the Manlius Fire Department provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services to the Village of Manlius, the Town of Manlius and the Town of Pompey. The Fire Department covers approximately 27 square miles of both residential, commercial and agricultural properties. The "Department" consists of four separate entities. The "Fire Department" is owned by the village. Since 1813 volunteers have been providing, and continue to provide, service to our community. In 1987, with the exodus of industry and commercial operations in the village, the first career fireman was hired to ensure an apparatus operator or emt for daytime response. The number of career has grown to 12, mainly to again ensure daytime response.
