Description
The Hughestown Hose Company is seeking individuals interested in Social Membership. Social Membership entitles member to be active non-emergency members of the department. This level is ideal for those that would like to volunteer but may not have the ability or desire to engage in firefighting or emergency medical incidents.
Social Members often are involved in:
- Planning and participating in fund raising activities.
- Representing the department in public and community events.
-Assist in administrative positions of the department such as secretary, treasurer, handyman, and other roles.
- Provide food and refreshments to emergency personnel at emergency scenes.

Requirements
All applicants must have or submit to a PA State Police Criminal History Check and a PA Childline Child Abuse Record Check. Social members may join the department at 14 years of age and older. The duties and activities that social members can engage in may be limited based upon age. Regardless of age, social members are restricted from participating in emergency operations of the department including incidents and training.
