Description
Resident firefighters are individuals who are assigned to live within one of GCFD3’s stations they will live there full time, making it their primary place of residence. The resident firefighter is provided with living accommodations including private bedrooms, utilities, internet access, television, laundry and basic necessities to live in the quarters.
They are provided full structural and wildland protective clothing (excluding wildland boots and duty pants), a class B uniform shirt, and duty tee shirts. Training and educational opportunities are both offered and required in the classroom setting and a “hands on” atmosphere. IFSAC FF1 courses are taught, and EMT class is provided with Residents contracted to pass certification (as available) within one year of residency. Tuition assistance is available for college and further education. Resident Firefighters are required to pull approximately ten scheduled 12 hour shifts per month from 18:00 to 06:00, with no less than one weekend per month. Residents receive a $650 stipend each month to offset food and other costs. And they will have opportunities to pull Per Diem Shifts each night at the three stations that house our Resident Program. There are opportunities for tuition assistance for college and higher education, too.

Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old, pass a background check and physical. Recruit must have or be able to obtain a valid WA State drivers license and be insurable.
