Description
The Bloomsburg Fire Department is an all-volunteer department that covers residents of Bloomsburg and aid other surrounding fire departments, when needed. If you are a life time resident, new resident to Bloomsburg or a college student wanting to assist your community, we’re for you. We’re looking for individuals at least 18 years old who are interested in becoming a fire fighter, fire police and auxiliary support for the department. We will provide you with the training needed to fill your interest in becoming fire fighter or fire police. Our auxiliary members assist in fund raising, administrative duties, community events and many other activities. Our Junior Firefighter program is aimed at those between that age of 14 to 18 who have an interest in firefighting and then become a full member at age 18. We can fit your schedule to serve our community.

Requirements
We require no previous training in firefighter or fire police to become a member.
To become a active member 18 years of age and order, you must submit an application with the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance & Pennsylvania Criminal Record Checks for Volunteers.
To become a junior member you must be between the ages of 14 to 18, where you then become an active member when turn 18years of age.
