Description
Grand Lake Firefighters respond to fire and medical related emergencies within Grand Lake Township and our local communities. Our firefighters support the fire department in all duties including emergency response, fundraising, maintenance, fire prevention and other special events.
Upon approval of the application and background check, an interview with the Department Personnel Board will be scheduled. Once approved the candidate will be placed on a probationary status. Probationary fire fighters will become active members after serving not less than one year and completing the following probationary requirements:
•Successful completion of a Firefighter I & II course (NFPA 1001).
•Successful completion of the minimum training requirements established in departmental policies.
•Successful driving and operation tests of all apparatus and equipment owned by the department.
•Emergency Medical Responder is not required however is highly encouraged due to the number of emergency dispatches that are for medical response.

-Be more than eighteen (18) years of age.
-Be a resident of Grand Lake Township or with Personnel Board Approval outside of Township
-Be in good physical and mental health and eligible to perform the duties responsible of the position.
-Hold a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
-All training will be provided by Grand Lake Fire Department (Firefighter I & II and Emergency Medical Responder )
-Be a resident of Grand Lake Township or with Personnel Board Approval outside of Township
-Be in good physical and mental health and eligible to perform the duties responsible of the position.
-Hold a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
-All training will be provided by Grand Lake Fire Department (Firefighter I & II and Emergency Medical Responder )
