Description
HVFD is looking for a pro-active person that supports accomplishment of the departmental goals and objectives.
Maximizes the effectiveness of operations as related to the performance of assigned tasks. Establishes and maintains good relations with citizens, other Gray County departments, civic groups, other governmental agencies, private entities, and media representatives. Provide for the protection of life and property, to both firefighters and citizens. Ensures compliance with the laws and regulations affecting the department. Participates within the incident command system. Pursues training opportunities to continually develop as a professional firefighter.

Requirements
Be at least 18 years of age.
Must be a high school graduate or have Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Must reside and continue to reside within Gray County.
Possess a valid Texas driver's license.
Must be able to pass physical examination.
Must be able to attend and participate in at least 50% fire training drills, work nights and community events.
Must respond to at least 25% of emergency calls.
Must have no DWI or similar offenses for the past ten years.
No Class-A misdemeanor or felony convictions.
Must be a high school graduate or have Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Must reside and continue to reside within Gray County.
