Description
As a member of the Harris-Elmore Fire Department, the volunteer firefighter is charged with the responsibilities of responding to emergency and non-emergency alarm calls, protecting lives and property through fire education, prevention and suppression of fires. The volunteer firefighter participates in formal and informal training and maintenance activities necessary to achieve the appropriate preparedness level to safely respond to and operate at fire, rescue, disaster emergency calls, and other emergency situations while protecting life and property and supporting mitigation activities.

Requirements
- 18 years of age with a valid GED or Diploma
- Must have valid State of Ohio Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record
- Must be able to attend meetings and trainings twice a month
- Criminal History Record check, including fingerprinting
- Ability to lift moderate to heavy weight and capable of working under strenuous conditions.
- Once a member the applicant will be required to attend monthly meetings/trainings and maintain all required certifications for their training level.
