Description
The Lanark Fire Protection District is looking for volunteer firefighters. Some of these duties include;

Fight fires of all types (houses, buildings, automobiles, brush)
Respond to fire alarm systems and emergency calls
Extract stranded victims from dangerous situations, including burning buildings
Administer medical aid and CPR to victims before ambulances have arrived
Assist in major traffic accidents, particularly when flammable or toxic materials are spilled
Help respond to any type of bomb threats
Clean up affected areas after completing rescue operations and extinguishing fires
Determine the root cause of fires
Write fire reports and keep records of hazardous situations
Educate citizens and schools with proper fire prevention and control practices
Attend training workshops
Operate a fire truck, hose, ladder, & fire hydrant
Clean, maintain, and repair fire stations & equipment

No experience needed! We will train you!

Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria;

Must be of at least 18 years of age.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Must live or work in the fire protection district.

Applications may be picked up at the Lanark Fire Station everyday between 7:30am and 4:30pm. Station is located at 103 West Carroll Street Lanark, IL 61046
