Description
The Hughestown Hose Company is looking for PA Licensed Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operators (EMSVO) to drive and operate our Basic Life Support Fire Department Ambulances or Basic Life Support Quick Response unit. Our department has seen a steady increase of EMS calls over the last three years and respond to nearly 500 EMS calls a year with no sign of the increased call volume ending in the foreseeable future.

Although this is a volunteer position, ambulance vehicle operators are often provided with a pay per call incentive to help reimburse them for time provided.

Requirements
All applicants must possess or submit to a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Check and a PA Childline Child Abuse History Check.

Regardless of training level, all applicants must present a copy of their valid drivers license and should have a clean driving record.

Applicants that have an active PA Department of Health Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator License must submit proof of active license status, a copy a valid driver's license, and proof of successful completion of a VFIS, NFA, or equivalent Emergency Vehicle Operators Course.

Training will be provided at little to no cost for those that do not have a current PA EMSVO certificate or have not yet taken and completed an Emergency Vehicle Operations course.

Professional Rescuer Level CPR and AED is required. A copy of current certification is required. Free or low cost training will be provided to those that do not currently hold CPR/AED certification.
