Description
We are looking for qualified & motivated individuals to join our team of Firefighters and EMT's. Call Firefighter/EMT's respond to all Fire and Medical emergencies in Groveland when they arise. Groveland has no full time Firefighters or EMTs and is not staffed in house at any time, relying on dedicated responders to mitigate hazards small and large. We are part of a diverse mutual aid network, responding to major incidents in all of our neighboring communities, including the City of Haverhill. We respond to 700+ emergency calls for service a year.
Groveland is a largely residential community with approximately 6,500 residents, 2,500 households, and numerous commercial properties spread over 9.4 square miles. Our community is consistently growing similarly to our neighboring communities.
Firefighting is a fast paced profession that requires an individual to utilize physical, mental, and emotional strength, as well as rely on their training to serve the public. We are looking for team oriented individuals who desire to answer the call when members of the community have nowhere else to turn.

Requirements
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older (you may apply at 17 if you will be 18 on your requested start date).
- Valid MA Drivers License with no restrictions.
- Reliable vehicle for getting to the station for training and answering calls.
- Residency in the Town of Groveland or within a 1 mile radius of Groveland.
- No medical condition that would prevent an applicant from fully performing the duties of Firefighter and EMT.
- Ability to attend department training on Tuesday nights and answer calls for service.
- Ability and willingness to attend the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and EMT school promptly after hire.
Not required but desired:
- Weekday availability to respond to calls for service.
- Geographically located in and around Groveland Fire Rescue's South Fire Station (107 Washington St).
- Firefighter 1 level and/or EMT/Paramedic certification.
- Prior Fire Service experience.
