Description
Monroeville is located approximately 12 miles east of the City of Pittsburgh in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and covers approximately 20 square miles. Monroeville is comprised of single and multi-residential, retail, commercial, and industrial buildings. Populations range from 50,000-100,000 daylight, and over 30,000 nighttime. Our department responds to a wide variety of incidents, both in Monroeville and assisting neighboring communities. Station 1 is the oldest fire station in Monroeville that began as Old Patton Twp. Fire Co. 1 in 1926. Station #1 provides 100% volunteer fire / rescue services, and a combination of paid / volunteer emergency medical services. Our fleet includes a 77' Quint, Heavy Engine, Air/Light Squad unit, 2 (2022) ALS Licensed Ambulance’s and a Utility pick-up. Our department also sponsors an active LIVE-IN program.

Requirements
Live-ins:
Must be 18 years or older
Must be in college or employed full-time, or combination of work and school
Must obtain PA Essentials of Firefighting/MODS 1-4 OR PA EMT/Medic
Must obtain PA EMT within one year if you are not already an EMT
Must obtain approval from the Vice President and Chief
