United Hook & Ladder Company # 33 was formed in 2009 by the merger of the New Oxford Community Fire Company and the Abbottstown Fire Company. This merger was to provide more efficient operations and services provided to the residents and visitors to our response area. As of January 1, 2016 Bonneauville Volunteer Fire Company becomes part of United Hook & Ladder. We provide emergency services from our (3) Fire Stations. The main station (Station 1) and where our functions are held is at 21 North Bolton Street in New Oxford Borough. The Abbottstown Station (Station 2) is located at 38 East King Street in Abbottstown Borough. The Bonneauville Station (Station 3) is located at 10 Elm Avenue in Bonneauville Borough.
We are an all volunteer department seeking new volunteer members. This includes members to be firefighters but also looking for volunteers to assist with public education, administrative needs and assist with our fund raising activities. We do not have excessive fund raising activities which sometimes deter people from volunteering. We only have 7 days a year in which we do fund raising, with 4 of those being our annual firemen's fair.
We have a live-in program available at our New Oxford Station, great opportunity for college students.
