In 1845, the Mountain Fire Company of Dahlonega was formed by 38 community members and even though the group only lasted about twenty years due to the Civil War, they laid a foundation for volunteer firefighters in the area. In 1948, community members organized the official fire department and started to grow. Today we have eight fire stations, with four of the eight manned 24 hours a day. We are a proud family of paid and volunteer members who are looking for others who want to help us serve the community.
