Description
The primary function of a Mescal-J6 Volunteer Firefighter and Firefighter/EMT is to protect the community from disaster situations, including house and building fires, and promote an environment of public safety within the Districts response area. This position also participates in fire prevention and inspection activities, equipment and quarters maintenance, and training dealing with all phases of fire suppression, prevention, inspection, rescue and emergency operation. Previous experience is preferred, but not necessary. Preference will be given to those with current Arizona Firefighter II and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certifications,

Requirements
Minimum qualifications to be a Mescal-J6 Volunteer Firefighter
• High school diploma or GED equivalency; and
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application;
• Must possess a valid Arizona Driver License w/ no more than two moving violations in the previous five years.
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation and employer reference check.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (paid for by MJFD)
• Must attend no less than two training sessions/ drills per month and be available for 2) twelve-hour coverage shifts per month.
• Must respond to no less than seven emergency incidents per month.
