Description
Want to be part of historic Lincoln, NM, walk along the steps of Billy the Kid and the Regulators? How about standing on the parade grounds where the horse soldiers once stood? The Lincoln Fire Department has a spot for you. We are a rural volunteer department, protecting one of the most historic locations in the United States. We respond from 2 stations, one located in Lincoln, NM, and the second station located at historic Ft. Stanton NM. Our department responds to a variety of calls for service, from fires to confined space rescue. We also provide mutual aid assistance as part of the Lincoln County Office of Emergency Services and to the Village of Capitan. No experience is necessary, most training will be provided at no cost and can be completed online. All protective equipment is provided at no cost. Requirements
The minimum age for a junior volunteer is 15 years of age. There will be limited involvement in the hazardous response calls. At 18 years of age, full participation is allowed. NM driver's license, a class E will be needed but can be obtained after joining.
