Description
Racine Volunteer Fire Department volunteer firefighters are responsible for fire prevention and fire suppression operations.
Volunteer firefighters will also train and become proficient in rope rescue (high/low angle), vehicle and machinery rescue, and various other specialties based on the needs of the communities we serve.
The volunteer firefighter will be involved in many aspects of department operations to include, but not limited to, Public Education, Fire Prevention, Fundraising, Community Outreach Events, and Calls For Service within our primary response area.
Additional opportunities may arise for the volunteer to attend additional training such as EMT, EMR, Swift Water Rescue, as well as advancement courses such as Fire Officer I & II.

Requirements
Volunteer Firefighters are required to complete NFPA 1001, Firefighter I training within one year of acceptance.
Must maintain and valid First Aid, CPR, & AED card.
Must complete Hazardous Materials training annually.
Must remain in good standing with the department.
Additional requirements may arise based on the need of the community or applicable laws and standards.
All training and necessary equipment is paid for and provided by the Racine Volunteer Fire Department.
