The applicant must live within the fire district or no more than 5 miles outside of the district boundary lines. The applicant must submit to a drug test, background check, and DMV driving record assessment. Each applicant must submit a completed application and interview to be considered for membership of the department. All new members must participate in mandatory probationary type training once accepted as a member. Each member is required to attend the mandated hours of training of 36 hours per year. Most members easily exceed this requirement each year.
