Description
The Carteret Fire Department is a dynamic organization that has been serving the residents of Carteret for over 100 years with pride and dedication. Our volunteer firefighters respond to a variety of emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year to protect lives and property. We are currently looking for highly motivated and dedicated inviduals to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to give back to the community and become a part of an elite group of people who are proud to be volunteer firefighters.

Requirements
- Be a resident of Carteret or certain sections of Woodbridge Twp.
- Be at least 18 years of age and no older than 57
- Be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent residency status
- Have a valid NJ Drivers License and good driving record
- Must have your own vehicle in order to be eligible for membership
- Able to pass a medical examination (paid for by department)
- Pass a criminal background check which includes fingerprinting
- Able to complete required NJ State/Pro-Board Firefighter 1 certification within two years of joining
- Able to maintain all minimum department response and training requirements
