Ready for a serious challenge, where the stakes are real? Looking for a way to give back to your community? Want to find out if a career in emergency services might be something for you? Our Junior Firefighter program is a unique volunteer opportunity for mature young people between the ages of 15 and 17. Junior firefighters work and train shoulder-to-shoulder with our adult firefighters. You get to learn the ropes, get REAL firefighter training, and be a part of something important.

Requirements
To be a junior firefighter, you must be between the ages of 15 and 17, and you must be willing to make time for the fire department. This means joining us for trainings, meetings, and maintenance work from 7-9pm on Tuesday evenings as often as possible. School must always come first– we expect all junior firefighters to fulfill all academic obligations before participating in fire department activities.

Membership on our department is open to any gender or physical ability level. We expect a commitment to excellence– what we do is serious business. If you come through the door with a positive attitude, ready to learn, work, and push yourself, we'll guide you from there. And we'll have fun doing it!

You must live in the Pawlet, Vermont to join our fire department. If you do not live in Pawlet, please seek out the fire department in your community. You will need you parent's permission, so make sure you talk to them first.
