Description
The Hughestown Hose Company, an all volunteer and non profit department are looking for volunteer firefighters. With the recent increase of emergency call volume, our department is responding to nearly 500 fire incidents each year in addition to EMS and other incidents.
Volunteer Firefighters are responsible for responding to a wide variety of emergency calls from structure fires, vehicle accidents, medical assists, hazardous materials incidents, and many other emergency and non emergency situations.
Required emergency gear, pager, and other equipment will be provided, free of charge, to all members and trainees.

Requirements
All applicants must have or submit to a PA State Police Criminal History Check and a PA Childline Child Abuse Record Check. Personnel are encouraged to be age 18 years or older. Junior Firefighters, age 14 years old to 17 years old, may join and train but will be limited to the duties they may perform. Previous training in fire, rescue, or EMS is strongly encouraged but not necessary.
Certification in Firefighter I or Firefighter II is strongly encouraged. Completion of an Essentials of Firefighting Program or a Basic or Advanced Fire Academy program is also strongly encouraged. Proof of successful program completion and/or professional certification is required.
Applicants that do not possess these certifications or successful completion of these programs will be provided training at little or no cost. Certain costs maybe eligible for reimbursement upon completion of course or certification.
