Description
Members are responsible for meeting the minimum requirements of the Department.
This position is for an entry level firefighter. The duties of an entry level firefighter are to:
• Respond to fire alarms, rescue calls, hazardous material incidents and other related
situations.
• Operate various firefighting apparatus, pumps, and ladders.
• Extricate victims from life threatening situations, and administer basic emergency
medical treatment.
• Inspects, tests, and performs preventive maintenance on fire and rescue equipment.

Requirements
• Applicant must be 18 years of age by employment date.
• Applicant must complete a City of Galena Park employment application.
• Applicant must possess a class C Texas driver’slicense.
• Applicant must not have any Felony or DWI convictions.
• The applicant must be able to pass an extensive background investigation.
• The applicant must be able to pass a pre employment urinalysis.
• Applicant must complete a City of Galena Park employment application.
