Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED required. Good driving record with no less and -3 points. Pass a background search. Pass a physical. NO TRAINING REQUIRED. Virginia Beach EMS provides free accredited Emergency Medical Technician training on-site at their training center. Emergency Vehicle Operators Course provided on-site as well. Must be able to commit to 19 weeks of training two nights a week from 6pm-10pm with several Saturday 8-5 workshops. Must be able to commit to volunteering 48 hours per month in 12 hour shifts offered from 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am after completion of training.
