Description
The Moscow Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) is comprised of three fire stations and approximately 120 volunteer Firefighters, EMTs and Paramedics who serve the community of Moscow and the outlying rural areas. The resident program is two fold: student residents help to maintain an effective volunteer firefighter program by enhancing staffing and improving apparatus response to emergencies, and in turn student residents receive free training, free housing and valuable hands-on experience that helps to prepare individuals for a career in fire and/or EMS services.

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
18 years of age
High school graduate or equivalent
Have a valid driver’s license & be insurable by MVFD
Pass a driving & criminal background check
Be enrolled as a full-time (12 credits or more) student for the upcoming school year at local or online University or Community College.
Applications are accepted year-round, but testing and interviews are typically in March and April of each year. For the 2024-2025 Academic School year, the applications are due on March 10th, 2024. Testing and interviews will be held in Moscow, Idaho in March of 2024 (usually during the University of Idaho UIBOUND weekend.
