Paid on Call Firefighter

Muskegon Township Fire Department

1117 S. Walker Road

Muskegon Charter Township Fire Department is actively recruiting men and women for openings as a Paid on Call Firefighter. This is a part time position, which involves responding to calls for emergencies when you are available. No fire training is necessary! We will provide the training for you to become a certified Firefighter and a licensed Medical First Responder.

This job does require quite a bite of commitment, but can be a very rewarding job, with opportunities for career advancement. Most of our Paid on Call firefighters still work full time jobs elsewhere, while balancing being an on call firefighter in their time off. Muskegon Charter Township Fire Department is a combination fire department, meaning they employ both Full Time Firefighters and part time, Paid on Call Firefighters. You must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record, a high school diploma, and live within the coverage area of our district – which is Muskegon Charter Township, Laketon Township, and a portion of Cedar Creek Township. Don’t live in one of those areas? There is a chance the department covering the area in which you reside may be hiring as well!

If this sounds like something you are interested in, and are serious about helping others and making a difference in YOUR community, don’t wait! Please stop by at either of our fire stations and fill out an Interest in Employment form. Feel free to talk to the on duty Firefighter and they can answer any questions you may have.
