Description
Miccosukee Fire Rescue is looking for people with a heart to serve others above all else. There are many different ways to serve whether through medical response which many times can be first on scene to get basic vital signs and info to having to perform life saving CPR. Our department is also looking for firefighters to respond to fires, car wrecks, and other disaster type relief. There are also openings for drivers (Engine operations) which is the perfect opportunity for those along in age or with some physical limitations. The driver would get the engine on scene and help make connections to a water source and monitor the pressure. You can train for all of these positions or stick with one of the above categories based on your desired preference or abilities. All training is paid for by the county.

Volunteer Category: Firefighter, EMT, Fundraising, Department Support

Requirements
Requirements are all training paid by department/county and at a reasonable pace for working indivduals:

- Incident Command Structure (ICS) - understanding who is in charge as more help arrives (city, state, and federal)
- Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC) - how to safely operate an emergency vehicle
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) - this is your basic starter medical course to respond to medical situations
- Firefighter 1 (FF1) - This is a basic course to give you the ability to understand fire behavior all the way to entering a structure.
- Wildland/Forestry - this course is designed to help you understand fire behavior when not contained by a structure and fueled by the outside elements.

There are many courses up from these: EMT, Paramedic, FF2, and more if you desire to know more.
