Description
Sumter County Fire & Rescue is seeking volunteers for paid on-call positions as firefighters and support firefighters. We are a combination department, located in Americus Ga. Paid on-call volunteers comprise 75% of our department personnel. We also are seeking members who are interested in serving on our Dive Rescue Team, Ground Search & Rescue Team, and Rope Rescue Team. SCFR is responsible for the protection of life and property of approximately 475 square miles (15,000 citizens) of Sumter County, Georgia.

Requirements
You must be:
1) 18 years of age
2) possess of valid Ga drivers license
3) possess a high school diploma or equivalent
4) pass criminal background check and drug test
5) pass a medical exam
6) possess firefighter 1 certification (or enroll in our FF1 course)
7) attend mandatory monthly training
