Our fire protection district covers 185 square miles from 6 stations with 16 apparatus. We are supported currently by a 10 mill property tax and 1/5 of a 1/4 cent Parish wide sales tax. We have approximately 12 volunteers and staff 2 daytime and 2 24hr with part-time personnel. We provide fire prevention and education, fire suppression, Advance Life Support level Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Material Technician and Specialist level response, High Angle and Confined Space Rescue, Dive Rescue and Recovery & Auto Extrication. Like most departments NATIONWIDE, our volunteers are on the decline. If you are interested in a career that gives you more than you put in, this is where you can start.
