Description
Performs those duties required to mitigate hazards threatening the community, including but not limited to: fire related incidents, hazardous materials incidents, emergency medical responses, and weather related emergencies. Performs all work and duties related to Fire Department response and operations. Work is performed under supervision of fire department officers.

Requirements
Any person meeting the following requirements shall be eligible for membership in the Department:
-Be at least 18 years old (14 years of age for the Junior FF Program)
-Live or work within 1.5 miles of the Valdese City Limits
-Physically fit and ability to complete medical physical exam, drug test and physical agility test
-Ability to obtain required training (36 hours per year)
-NC Drivers License
-Ability to commit to serving our Citizens and the Valdese Fire Department
-Be at least 18 years old (14 years of age for the Junior FF Program)
