Description
Laurel Hill Volunteer Fire Department is looking for enthusiastic additions to our fire department. We are one of 5 volunteer departments in the City of Norwich. We offer training and schooling opportunity in the fire, medical, and traffic control fields. Laurel Hill is home of 3 specialty pieces of apparatus for the city. We respond to wildland fires with our Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV), and are part of the tanker task force with our Hose Tender 6 and new 2020 Engine Tanker 61. Other calls and responses include fires, medical calls, motor vehicle accidents, and service calls such as basement flooding or downed trees and electrical wiring.

Laurel Hill pays for training for all schooling after a 6 month to a year probationary time. Norwich residents will also receive a tax credit of 1000 dollars, if you make 20% of training, 20% of calls and 20% of meetings. We train weekly on Tuesday nights at 6 pm, and some Saturdays for probationary members. If you are interested in joining our fire department please stop by the station and fill out an application. Applications are in the mailboxes located on the front of the building on the Laurel Hill RD entrance. If you have any questions about our volunteer department please contact us via phone, email, or Facebook messenger on our Facebook page
