Halifax Community College (HCC) is looking for civic minded men and women to help serve the community of the Roanoke Valley. HCC works with and trains both volunteer and paid staffs of area emergency services. As a volunteer firefighter or emergency medical technician you will be trained in life saving skills to help community members in their greatest time of need. More advanced training includes items such as extrication, rope rescue, swift and underwater rescue, prevention techniques and many many more. Job required training for NC emergency responders is tuition free in many cases. Many of our volunteers find the work so rewarding that they decide to pursue careers in the field.
