The Borough of Riverdale needs your help to solve a looming crisis in the area of Public Safety. As you
are aware Riverdale has been protected by a 100% volunteer fire department for over 100 years. These
dedicated volunteers save the taxpayers and businesses of Riverdale millions of dollars, as compared
to, a fully paid Fire Department. In recent years our ability to attract and retain members has been
affected by the time commitment required to meet State requirements, as well as, economic challenges
requiring people to work multiple jobs. In addition the issue is exponentially worse during daytime
hours as most people travel out of Riverdale for their employment.
