Description
The Duson Fire Department is currently excepting qualified applications for Volunteer Firefighters. These volunteer firefighters are responsible for responding to different incidents such as, structure/ commercial fires, and alarms. Grass, trash, field fires. Vehicle accidents, rescue calls, hazardous scenes, and public service calls.
Duson firefighters also participate in community public relations as in fire preventions, and pre-fire planning.

Requirements
-18 years of age
-Be of good moral, motivated character
-Be willing to commit their time and efforts to the DVFD
-Live and reside in the Duson area
-Have a valid drivers license
-Willing to participate in possible random drug testing
-Clean record (no felony charges)
-Reliable transportation
-Respond to at least 10% of the calls
-Participate in training provided in house or through Lafayette FD and also LSU Training.
*Note must complete probationary period*
