Description
The Hackettstown Fire Department operates 3 Engines, 1 Truck, Command Vehicle, and 2 Support Vehicles out of 2 firehouses that protect approximately 3.712 square miles with a population of roughly 10,000 people. Two companies, Cataract Hose Co. No. 1 and Vigilant Hook & Ladder Co. No. 1 provide the all volunteer manpower to the department. We answer roughly 300+ calls a year. We respond to F.A.S.T. requests for areas of Warren & Morris Counties. All gear & equipment provided by department. Clothing allowance available to those who qualify.

Requirements
-Must be between the ages 18-45 years old and a U.S. citizen.
-Must live within the Hackettstown border and have done so for at least 6 months prior to applying.
-Must pass a Police Department back round check.
-Must complete State Application process and physical.
-Must be able to attend Fire Academy within required time.
-Must be able to attend Monthly Company Meeting and Department Drill.
-Must be able to attend 2 Department Meetings a year.
-Must maintain a required percentage of calls, meetings, and drills.
-Must be able to purchase dress uniform within required time.
-Must live within the Hackettstown border and have done so for at least 6 months prior to applying.
