Description
Matawan Borough Fire Department was formed by ordinance in 1905. The Primary mission of the MBFD is to provide a range of services designed to protect the residents of Matawan Borough and the surrounding communities. We have a rich history in the fire service and tradition is at our core.
We are currently looking to expand our roster and fill some firefighter positions. This is a volunteer opportunity and carries no weekly paycheck however we have many fringe benefits such as free training from some of the best instructors and firefighters in the state. You also can receive college credit for many courses taken at both the online and on premise fire academy classes. In addition to these benefits you may also qualify for a pension or savings plan that builds based on your commitment to the fire service.

Requirements
Must be 18 years of age to enter fire academy however we have a junior program that begins at age 16. The junior program will give you a head start in the fire service and will also assist in fulfilling community service credit requirements for high school graduation.
Parents want to keep your kids off drugs and off the streets we will give them a high that cannot be matched anywhere. ADRENALINE.

Under 18 that's cool too. Have your parents contact us about how we can get you enrolled in our Junior Firefighter training.
Not interested in being a firefighter but still want to be part of the CREW we have open spots for ancillary positions within the department as well so don't delay contact us today.
