On behalf of the Volunteer First Responders of Lackawaxen Township, we would like to welcome you. The emergency services in Lackawaxen Township are unique in many ways. However, like most small Townships, our fire departments are staffed with 100% volunteers and we are proud to say that the quality of service we provide excels with each new volunteer member.
In addition to the traditional roles of fighting fires and providing emergency medical assistance, our personnel are trained for and respond to a vast variety of emergencies, such as vehicle accident victim extrications, river rescues and hazardous material calls.
If you are a person interested in a challenging and rewarding venture, are action - oriented, adventurous and relish a rush, please consider becoming one of us.
Remember, behind every firefighter or rescue provider there are scores of people who support them. If you have a skill, we have a way to use it. Just contact us.

Requirements
The basic requirements are simple. To enlist as a fully qualified Firefighter, volunteers must be:
1) 14 years of age or older*
2) In good physical health
3) Of sound moral character
There are some "givens" too. You should definitely be:
1) Caring and Community minded
2) A Team player
3) The type of person who enjoys a challenge and likes to learn and acquire new skills
* A parent's signature is required if you are under 18 years of age.
