Description
Firefighter - Firefighters carry a department provided pager and respond to emergency calls including but not limited to structure fires, vehicle fires, grass/wild land fires, car accidents, farm accidents, and hazardous materials incidents. Firefighters are also expected to attend monthly meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the fire station, and complete Firefighter I/II training after their first year of membership. All training and equipment costs are the responsibility of the fire department, and there is no cost for the member. Because of the number of duties and responsibilities within the fire department, not every member is expected to be an interior firefighter. Other job duties include pump operator, accountability/safety officer, completing vehicle maintenance, and tanker driver. An annual retirement pension is offered with this position.

First Responder - First Responders carry a fire department provided pager, and asked to respond to emergency calls including but not limited to medical emergencies, vehicle and farm accidents, and fire standbys. First Responders are expected to attend monthly meetings on the first and third Tuesday of the month at the fire station. All new first responders will be expected to attend first responder or emt training approved by the MN EMSRB within their first year of membership. There is no cost to the member. The fire department covers the cost of all training and equipment.
