Serve as a volunteer Engineer/Driver Operator
Responsibilities include:
Operating an emergency vehicle safely to and from the scene of an emergency or non-emergency event.
Operating the water pumping and other emergency systems on scene and during training
Monthly maintenance checks and verification of functionality of the apparatus and equipment on board.

Requirements
Must be ages 18 and up to operate emergency vehicle
NO CDL or previous experience required
Will be required to take 40 hour Emergency Vehicle Driver Training Class and additional Pump Operations training and classes.
Additional Requirements:
Live in our fire district or on the very edge of it. (See map at www.bmfire.com)
**We will make exceptions on case-by-case basis.
Be willing to sacrifice your time and energy to the department.
Must attend meetings (2 times a month), calls (roughly 20-30 per month), and complete duties around the station.
Be willing to take required training courses. Most will be taught at local fire departments near us or could be held at our department.
Have a valid SC Class D Drivers License or CDL's (but a CDL is not a requirement)
Have no felonies on record for the past 10 years (per SC Law).
