Description
Are you interested in serving your community on an ongoing basis? Are you a team player? Are you interested in a career in Emergency Medicine? Then begin your career as an EMT with the North Bethlehem Fire Department! As a Basic Life Support agency, the North Bethlehem Fire Department provides First Response (non-transport) BLS services to our district. North Bethlehem EMTs also respond to mutual aid requests for Firefighter Rehab, rescues, and motor vehicle accidents in the district.

Department members interested in pursuing this credential for the first time are also eligible.

Our Continuing Education program will also help EMTs manage continuing education units to maintain certification, providing annual free CPR/AED re-certification (for all firefighters, too) and other education opportunities as well.

Requirements
* Completion of New York State-approved EMT-B course and current certification as an EMT-B.
* For Certification as an EMT: Must be at least 18 years of age by the end of the month in which they are scheduled to take the written certification examination.
*Those certified at the AEMT or EMT-P (Paramedic) level are welcome but their practice will be limited to the EMT-B scope of practice/NYS protocols while on duty with our department.
* Must live within 3 miles of the North Bethlehem Fire Department at 589 Russell Road, Albany, NY.
