High school diploma (or equivalent), valid Maine Driver's license (CDL preferred but not required), pass a physical agility test, reading comprehension test, be in good physical health. Be cleared by the department's physician. Complete required emergency vehicle operator training, basic fire pump operator and aerial operator training. Meet minimum activity and regular training requirements.
