Northwest Fire Protection District is hiring Paid Per Call Firefighters and EMT's for both of our stations that serve the northwest area of Rockford. Our department has a growing need due to a steadily increasing number of fire and medical call outs. No experience is necessary but commitment, respect and a willingness to learn is. New personnel will be required to have a Basic Fire Ops or EMT certification within 18 months of hire. Training is on Monday nights or Tuesday mornings and you would be expected to attend and participate. Our department provides all of the needed uniforms and gear. We also offer tuition assistance and grants for training courses. Out of district applicants are welcome. Some applicants in Machesney Park who are out of district may live close enough to respond from home. Sleeping quarters are available for personnel that are working shifts while off of work at their other job.
